The fingerprint

Every file gets a unique cryptographic fingerprint: Word or Excel document, PDF, image, video, audio… any digital file, as is, with no conversion whatsoever. The file itself never leaves your organisation: only its fingerprint is used.

The anchoring

That fingerprint is recorded, timestamped, on Base, a public layer-2 blockchain secured by Ethereum. Once recorded, it cannot be tampered with.

Anyone can verify, freely and forever, that a document is authentic, dated, and genuinely comes from the organisation that issued it.

Privacy

Your data stays with you. Always.

Only your document's fingerprint is recorded on the blockchain. A fingerprint reveals nothing: it is unreadable and cannot be reversed. Neither the file, nor its content, nor its metadata ever leaves your organisation.

What is a digital fingerprint?

A fingerprint (or hash) is a unique, fixed-length code computed from your file, much like a human fingerprint. Change a single comma or pixel, and the fingerprint becomes completely different. The document cannot be reconstructed from its fingerprint: the computation only works one way. And in practice, two different files cannot produce the same fingerprint. In short: the fingerprint proves everything about your document, yet reveals nothing of it.

The fingerprint is enough

No access to the source file is needed to certify it: holding its fingerprint is enough, along with any associated metadata. The one who certifies is not necessarily the one who holds the document.

Nothing readable on the blockchain

Only the fingerprint is publicly recorded. It reveals nothing about the content: the document, its text or its images cannot be deduced from it.

Your metadata belongs to you

You alone decide which metadata to associate with a document. It stays with you and is never published.

The prerequisite

One single prerequisite: your domain name.

Your domain is your identity. It is what proves the provenance of every certified document, publicly and unambiguously. If your organisation owns and controls a domain name, it is ready to certify.
